Alert Diver-Bahamas Underwater Photo Week issue
The Fall 2014 issue of Alert Diver is now out and print copies will be arriving in DAN US members’ mailboxes over the next few days. For those that live in other parts of the world, the magazine is available from today as a download via the Apple App store or as an online version on the Alert Diver website.
Ikelite announces housing for EOS 7D Mark II
Ikelite has announced their new housing for the Canon EOS 7D Mark II. As always, the company are early “adopters”, offering a housing very quickly after the camera’s release. Constructed of acrylic, the housing has the company’s TTL strobe connections and includes a double handled tray.
TLC announces new and revised products
Technical Lighting Control (TLC), a division of Aquatica, has announced a redesign of its arms and components as well as new products. Amongst the changes are a new clamp design, o rings on the ball arm ends, buoyancy arms and a range of GoPro mounting accessories.
Review: Nauticam 140mm dome port by Alex Mustard
Wetpixel Associate Editor, Alex Mustard has just returned from a week in the Egyptian Red Sea, where amongst the things, he was able to test the new Nauticam 140mm dome port. The dome is designed for use with fisheye lenses and full frame cameras. In his review, Alex discusses not only this dome’s performance, but also some general pointers about dome port use and selection.

Light & Motion announces the SOLA 3000
Light & Motion has also announced their new SOLA 3000 Flood video light. Featuring an output of 3000 lumen and a burn time of 50 minutes at full power, the light can be charged from 80% to full power in 1.45 hours.
Gabon announces newest marine reserve of 18,000 square miles
On wednesday the president of Gabon, Ali Bongo Ondimba, announced at the opening of the 2014 IUCN World Parks Congress that 18,000 square miles of ocean, nearly a quarter of its waters, will be protected from commercial fishing. More than 20 species of sharks and rays inhabit Gabon’s coastline as well as 20 species of marine mammals, and four species of sea turtles, which includes the world’s largest breeding leatherback turtle population and the Atlantic Ocean’s largest breeding olive ridley turtle population.
Light and Motion unveils the SOLA 8000
Light & Motion has announced their new SOLA 8000 video light. Featuring an output of 8000 lumen and a burn time of 50 minutes at full power, which can be monitored via an OLED display, the light utilises Light & Motions “direct cooling technology”.
