In search of the Pacific giant octopus we visited one of the most colorful cold water diving areas in the world. We were deeply impressed after our underwater photography expedition to Vancouver Island in Canada. Here is our report!

Not in Vancouver, but I dive weekly in Seattle area just south. This is the best time of year for good visibility. Late spring-late summer the visibility gets downright horrible in many places. 2 meters or less on occasion.

In terms of visibility September and October are great. Later in the year the wind is getting strong and the sea rough. Therefore there is no diving in the North of Vancouver Island.

That was a great trip report, thanks for sharing!  Browning Pass is one of my favorite dive destinations and I am glad you got a chance to experience it.
