In Topic: Impulse purchase 16GB iPod Touch. Ooh It's Nice.

So far as I've seen, there really isn't an interface to store photos on the go, unless you have an SD wifi card, which I don't. 16GB won't get you too far with photo storage, but it holds my music collection and a representative group of photos that I want to show people.

I saw one of these the other day and was wondering if it could be used to store photos. I'm going on a cruise next month and didn't want to take my laptop and was hoping this little gadget could be used as a substitute. I have two 2gb SD cards and was hoping I could down load to the ipod every afternoon. However, from your remarks, I'm assuming this is not a good option. (This would have been a good excuse to purchase one).

If anyone has any thoughts on this, please jump in.

What lens?

The only lens I have right now is the 18-70mm kit lens. I know this is not ideal for underwater and I hope to be adding additional lenses soon. First on my list is either a nikon or sigma 12-24mm, sigma 10-20mm or a fisheye in the 15mm to 16mm range. I'm more interested in how the dome would work with one of the yet to be bought lenses. Of course, I'm new to this, so any recommendations would be appreciated.

In Topic: YS 90DX strobe Compatability

It should will be non-TTL (you mean the YS-90DX, the older strobe?)

Yes, that is what I meant (I corrected the post). Some of the literature on the strobe says it connects to . . . (and listed several DX housing). The DX-D7O wasn't listed.

Do you have any suggestion for strobes? Do you need a strobe if you are only snorkeling and aren't very deep (5 to 10 feet of water).

I understand what you are saying about digital, and the point and shoot alternative makes sense. I have considered the point and shoot route, and this is my dilema. This probably won't makes any sense whatsoever, but I don't get excited about buying a point and shoot camera. They're just not as cool looking. -_-

I really want to buy a digital housing for my d70s, but can't justify the initial outlay of cash without knowing that I'll stick with this new hobby. The film SLR set up lets me buy something cool  and gives me the excuse (for the wife) to buy accessories that I will be able to use later. It always seems easier to justify expenditures when you stretch them out.

I'm not sure this post makes any sense.
