Also you can look to see where it was made. The original D2 says made in China

In Topic: Does silicon turn bad over time?

I am not sure that I agree with Dave. While it is true that housing back o-rings are compression based, they do get dirty. Dive a couple of days in Ambon, Lembeh, Anilao in the muck and you will have grit, muck, and other stuff on the o-rings. Take them out, clean them off and re-lube them (not to make them slippery as many people think, but to keep them at the right durometer). I know folks who clean their housing rings every day and that seems too much, but if you dive in the muck, make sure you take a look at them now and then.

Use one of the all purpose lubes, Tribolube, Chrisolube, Krytox and you only need one kind.

thanks, these look very close to my measurements on the z240 using a slightly different set of hardware.

In Topic: Lighting without strobes?

04 December 2018 - 08:39 AM

If you are doing mostly wide angle, then natural light will be your predominant source of light since strobes are only good to a few feet away. For close focus wide angle you can use your video light but remember that a video light is likely 100x less light than even a small strobe.
