Fluorescing Giant Green Anemones

05 October 2013 - 09:32 PM

Took a few shots of the anemones in the tide pools of Pacific Rim National Park. All of these photos are right out of the camera, with only a tad of sharpening applied. Also, these were taken through the surface of the water... no housing here :(
Pink-Tipped Anemone (Anthopleura elegantissima)
Pink-Tipped Anemones. In this shot you can see some of the rock weeds have a very subtle red fluorescence.
Giant Green Anemone (Anthopleura xanthogrammica) Personally I really like this shot and might make a wrap out of it.
Giant Green Anemone. The previous shots were all taken around midnight. However, while exploring the tide pools during the day I came across one of the largest green anemones i'd ever seen and tried to reveal its fluorescence... and it worked!
This is the same individual as above, but only under white light.
