Wow, fastastic group of winning shots. I think this is the first contest were I didn't say "what were the judges thinking" when I look at the results. Congratulations to the winners and the judges - great job!!

I think this is the first contest were I didn't say "what were the judges thinking" when I look at the results.

Funny, that why I've never entered a contest again until last year's inaugural Dive Photo/Wetpixel whatever it was. A long time ago, my banded coral shrimp in the mouth of a giant moray lost to that hard to capture subject, a flamingo tongue. I decided to start entering last year because the prizes were so good. The winners were all great and the judging excellent.

I was notified of my 2nd place winning, but they didn't say which shot it was that won. The shot that won was at the bottom of my list. As a matter of fact, my better half made me enter it. I wasn't going to waste an entry fee on it. Now I am required to listen to her judgement on all things photographic.

I thought some HM's were better than some of the winners, but Todd Mintz' overall winner is one of my all time favorite underwater shots ever. I love that shot. I hope to copy it some day.

That shot of Todd's was just plain out of this world.
