Hi guys,

I want to be able to mount a single 15000 lumens video light on the hot shoe mount of my RX100 housing for 4K video to keep things streamlined for freediving and honestly, symmetrical to sooth my OCD.

Is this going to be a bad idea for backscatter/video quality/ etc?

UW - Canon Powershot G11 with Inon D4 baseplate, arms, Inon LE240, dual Inon S2000s, Inon lens caddy, dual Inon stackable macros, Dyron 67mm adaptor and Dyron 0.3x WA lens.
Topside - Camera with Lensmate 72mm adaptor and holder, 72mm Kenko Pro1D circular polariser and Velbon Sherpa 435R.

Yes bad idea as the light will hit particles and those will reflect in the direction of your port
but backscatter depends on suspended particles so if you go where the water is really clear maybe you get by
Also unless you go deeper than 8-10 meters depending on conditions your light may be totally overpowered by the sun and end up on ebay some time soon
If instead do serious stuff at 15-20 meters than it would make more sense
