Not easy for new user.. Reply to this post? Spent time trying to figure out how to add a post..Must improving here.Regi

Agreed - I'm trying to post in the classified forum. All I seem to be able to do is reply to someone else's classified (not sure I should be hijacking another classified ad with my gear) and I have a 'you cannot start a new topic' notice towards top right corner.

I've searched every string I can think of with no joy. Unable to find the contact wetpixel form referenced somewhere, and cant seem to find a newbie forum help type thread where I can ask a question.

Any help out there? Cheers, jonb

You have to introduce yourself before you can start a topic in any of the forums (including Classifieds):

I am also a new user. I find the specific workings of the website are hard to figure out. For example, I posted a brief question concerning which wetsuit to use in the Galapagos. Once I'm satisfied with the responces, how do I terminate the post. Surely you don't want that post to stay there forever.

Hi folks,

For those who have just joined Wetpixel:

Firstly, welcome and we hope that you will become an active community member and find the amazing resources that are available here both interesting and useful.

At this point, you should have received an email from us which has a link to verify your email address. Once this has been completed you have one more step to do before you can post new topics.

In order to start a topic in any of the forums, you must make a post introducing yourself. Please do so in the Member Introductions thread:

http://wetpixel.com/...showtopic=20356

Once you have done so, you can post a topic in any of the forums.

Until you have made a post, you will not be able to add topics to any forum. If you are experiencing difficulties, please contact us via the Wetpixel contact form:

http://wetpixel.com/contact

Once again, thank you for your participation.

Hi I'd like to post in the intro thread but scrolling through pages from 2011 was pretty labor intensive. Obviously I am doing this wrong? Anyway hello. I love wet pixel FB page and look at it almost every day and post on it frequently as well.

Hi gass Productions

The fact you have posted this shows that you are able to make a post.

If you go to the main Forum page, select the section that you think relevant to what you want to post. When that loads click on the box which says Start New Topic - black box, right hand side about and 1" down from the top.

If you can see that, you're off and running. If that box doesn't show, let us know.....

Welcome aboard!

So obviously it appears I can post :D  I just registered via my Twitter account. I did not receive an email to verify but I'm guessing having a Twitter account takes care of that.

I want to edit my profile, but it doesn't allow me to.  When I go to my profile and click on "Edit my Profile" it takes me to "My Settings" which has nothing that allows me to edit the information on my profile.  Just "Email & Password", "Ignore Preferences", etc...  I attempted to contact the site via the online form and received an email stating my "message could not be delivered"

I'm wide open to ideas :)

Hi Bill

Welcome to Wetpixel! (Welcome to retirement too :dancing:) You seem to be finding it useful already - excellent! Happy reading.

Sorry you have had a bit of a problem with the Profile.

Just let me run though the system for you - just in case: click on your name (it should say ScubaBill22) in the top right hand corner on the black ribbon border of the Wetpixel screen. This should produce a dropdown box with the first option being My Profile. Click on that. This will produce an overview of your current profile. In the top right hand side there is a black click box, Edit My Profile. Click that and it'll give you (on the left hand side) a number of options of things you can tinker with - including  My Settings. Using the combination of those options you can/should be able to produce pretty much anything you want in terms of explaining who you are, the gear you own etc.

Hope that helps!

Nevermind - I figured it out.  If I reply to the post using the box at the top, attachments can be added.  If replying using the box at the bottom of the post, no attachments can be added.
