In Topic: Help for lense choise for canon eos 7d mark II

I shot a crop sensor camera a few years ago in Lembeh. In my experience, to get a pygmy you'll need your 100mm (or 105? whatever it is for Canon) and a pretty strong wet diopter on top of it (assuming you don't want to crop 2/3 of the image).

While you can flip the wet lens out of the way, getting a shark with a 100 or 105 is not the right tool for the job. Too close and you only get a little of the shark, too far and you have way too much water between your lens and the shark.

The D850 has a neat feature that seems to work well (at least it does on my D5) called auto af fine tune. Gone are the days of struggling with it manually :)

D500 has significantly better:  AF, low light, viewfinder, battery life, and more. It will certainly not hurt. It'll let you use more lenses as well over the 3200.

I'm trying to talk myself out of the D850 from D810, so yeah.. haha i get it.

In Topic: D810 and shutter speed

I have shot a lot of 1/125th with my D810. Lenses are calibrated to my body. No issues to speak of in water, walking around, or in studio.

This also can be related to focal length and VR use (or not), support, and a myriad of other factors.
