There used to be a lot of bears where I am from (in the north of Spain) many many years ago but now, due to hunting etc..., there are only a few (less than twenty I recall...) and they are very protected but I donīt think they will make it back

I love bears! Are you really allowed to stay 4ft close to the bears taking pictures?

You are not allowed to approach, but if they approach you ... yup. The guy that started it, had one step on his foot some years ago. Hopefully, these guys will always be wild.
Some wonderful images there Bob, must be fantastic to be so close to those guys. I love the image with the river flowing past, just a great shot.
Cheers,
Steve

I took a trip to McNeil River to commune with bears. McNeil River has the largest congregation of brown bears in the world. There's something life changing about having a 500 lb brown bear sit 4 feet from you and eat a 10 lb salmon.
Amazing images in that collection.
