So on my dive today my S&S YS-01 wasn't working. It worked intermittently on my previous dive earlier this week. As soon as I'd get in the water, it would act like the batteries had died, even with freshly charged batteries. I was able to replicate the issues on land by pressing on the battery door. If it's uncompressed, the strobe will charge up and give me a ready light. As soon as I press on the door again, it loses all power. I haven't opened it up after this dive as I'm still letting it dry, but when I looked in the battery compartment this morning when replacing batteries, nothing looked amiss. I just returned from a liveaboard a few weeks ago with no issues.

Anyone else had this issue? What should I check to see what the problem is?

sounds like it needs serviced. either the contacts are dirty or the connections from the battery compartment to the strobe are loose.

Looks like one of the contacts had a bit of crud on it, barely visible. Wiped it off with a paper towel and it still seems to work when I press on the battery lid. I'll know for sure when I dive on Wednesday. Thanks. I hadn't seen that when I opened it up yesterday before my dive.
