In Topic: Packing tips for travelling around SE Asia, Indonesia, Australia

I had my honeymoon out in bali/Indonesia and took my underwater setup out in a think tank back pack - no problems what so ever except for on the flight back through Kuala Lumpur when the security guard took exception to my tiny (and I do mean tiny) set of allen keys which I had forgotten to put in my hold luggage (so he confisicated them on the premise that I could do something dangerous with them - longest was about 2 inches long).. So my advice - make sure any tools you have packed go into hold luggage!

It was 5m we had a minute to go on safety stop. He had about 70 bar or so. Plenty at that depth. What I meant was that we couldn't have hung around for 20 mins to get the perfect shot. I took 4 fast shots in the time before we ascended..

Both good points. My buddy was having some issues with the reel and was also on a single tank only so didn't really have sufficient gas to hang around too long unfortunately.

When I went to Indonesia recently I took a think tank commuter bag which swallowed my full micro 4/3 rig (EM-10) plus twin strobes. I had the camera and lenses in a small separate bag as allowed. Sailed through customs as all points, no issues apart from losing my Allen keys to security in Kuala Lumpur!
