As underwater image makers, we often capture imagery of sharks and other apex marine predators.
There is a lot of talk about whether they are specifically attracted to colors or areas of contrast.
My understanding is that it is less a color preference and more an issue of some species being attracted to areas of contrast, particularly when they are being moved (e.g. light colored fins or the contrast between white hands and dark wetsuits.)
Would Wetpixel members be willing to share their thoughts and experiences of this?
Similarly, I can't find any academic papers that discuss this. Does anyone know if any exist and if so in which journal(s)?
