At CES, Sony announced their entry in 3D with the HDR TD10, a dual lens, dual backlit CMOS sensor 3D HD camcorder which records 3D 1080i in a new format called MVC. The TD10 has dual Sony G lenses, feeding dual Exmor R sensors and processed by dual BIONZ processors. The result is recorded as 1080i in a new 28mbps format called MVC. It does not allow recording in AVCHD in 3D mode, unlike the JVC GS TD1, but it does record 1080p60 in AVCHD.
With a MFD of 80cm at 34.4mm focal length, the camera is more capable than the 3D solution from Panasonic with the detachable 3D lens.
Like the JVC, the LCD monitor allows viewing of 3D clips without glasses. The camera has a built in flash for still pics (2D only) and the lens in 3D mode has 10x optical zoom. OIS is only available in wide mode in 3D.
The camera will be shipping in April at MSRP of US$1499.99

Check this out!

Even looks like it'll fit in a sensible sized housing!

Hand's in the air who wants one...

From what I have read, the Sony TD10 3D stream is uneditable. All you can do is play it directly out of the camera into the TV. No editing, no registration, ..... This is a guaranteed bad 3D. How can Sony come up with this stuff??!!

Well I doubt Sony would ever release a camera with a codec no NLE can edit. Vegas will certainly be able to. I think it's just early days and nothing has been negotiated yet.

My friend is now in hand with the Sony TD10 (making a video for local promotion in Hong Kong). His comment to the video cam is "great 3D video with beautiful monitor". Looking forward to it, especially the housing !!

The Sealux Housing should come this month :B):

The TD10 ist available in Germany now and it comes with Vegas Movie Studio 11.

Some People did some test on short 3D Clips from the TD10 in Vegas 10e. You can work with those files, look at them while cutting in 3D and burn them on BD Disk, play back in 3D !!
