From my trip to St. Vincent last week. Several site had pretty bad bleaching - probably about 30-40% in my entirely unscientific observation. Other sites showed less but some bleaching was observed at all the sites I dived.

Interesting photo Larry, Wow that is bad looking.

The corals in the photo indicate a deeper reef, was the bleaching in shallow water as well?

The photo was taken at New Guinea Reef and was not all that deep, probably at about 40-50 ft. The bleaching was across the board, both shallow and deep

Let me also note that this is an example of a badly bleached section of reef and that all of the reef doesn't look this bad.

wow .. thats really bad compared to cayman ... its all coming back nicely here now ... but the shallows (where not many dive but do snorkel) is by far the worst.

Here is an article about bleaching published today on the LA Times. Too bad they don't have your photos to illustrate it.
