Just to add a reply that AppleCare rocks!

They picked up my iBook, replaced the video RAM and had it back to me in 3 days including shipping both ways.

thanks so much for the help everyone...

i think i'll wait until January to see what happens with PB G5 or more likely an Intel based book.

you can count on me asking your advice to go for whatever the new book is or the PB G4.

Btw for those with PB G4 AI, there is a 1.92ghz G4 upgrade available from Daystar. You'll have to send it in for a chip transfer but apparently takes a week. For those with a 1-1.33 ghz, it may be worth the $400 until the real powerful intel PB come out.
