I have put together a small page with some comments/insight on strobe use with the Nikon Coolpix 5000 and Ikelite Housing:

Very good James! Can't wait to see real life results.
Are you mostly shooting in Aperature priority mode? As you get closer distance, and and go to higher f stop, for more DOF, do you find you also have to dial in some flash exposure compensation?
Are you using the matrix metering?
