Hey, guys. I've just upgraded to a T60, so I'm selling my IBM Thinkpad T42.

IBM Lenovo Thinkpad T42 2373-M3U

It's a wonderful and fast machine, with high-resolution 14.1" screen and famous IBM keyboard (stiff and crisp!). Comes with a bunch of extras and upgrades. Hard disk has been restored back to original state, with legal, licensed Windows XP Pro installed.

* Processor: Intel Pentium M 745 1.8 GHz
* Screen Size: 14.1" TFT SXGA+ Active Matrix (1400 x 1050)
* ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 AGP Graphics Card w/64MB RAM (400Mhz)
* Memory: 1.5GB DDR SDRAM 333 MHz (2GB Max)
* Hard Drive: Hitachi 100GB 7200RPM
* CD-RW/DVD-RW Ultray Bay Slim Multiburner for burning CDs and DVDs
* INTEL PRO/Wireless 2200GB 802.11 b/g networking, with wireless LAN antenna
* ThinkLight for illuminating keyboard
* Bluetooth with Bluetooth Antenna
* Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet
* 2 x USB 2.0, VGA out, Parallel Port, RJ-11 (modem), RJ-45 (NIC), S-Video out
* 2 x Type 1 PC card slots (PCMCIA)
* Keyboard, Ultranav trackpoint AND trackpad
* Secure Chip and Fingerprint Reader
* Weight:4.9 lbs.
* Included Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional
* 9-cell extended battery (only a couple of months old)
* IBM ThinkPad 72 Watt AC DC Combo Adapter

Width 12.2 in. ·
Depth 10 in. ·
Height 1.2 in. ·
Weight 4.9 lb. ·

Upgrades are:

* 9-cell extended battery (only a couple of months old)
* CD-RW/DVD-RW Ultray Bay Slim Multiburner for burning CDs and DVDs
* Memory: 1.5GB DDR SDRAM 333 MHz (2GB Max)
* Hard Drive: Hitachi 100GB 7200RPM

Additional included accessories:

* Extra IBM ThinkPad 72 Watt AC DC Combo Adapter (2 total)
* 3-cell IBM ThinkPad Ultrabay Slim Laptop Battery
* Ultrabay Slim 2.5" HDD Adapter for second hard disk

That means you can have swap out the DVD drive for an extra battery or extra hard disk for maximum versatility.

I just saw a similar (used) machine go on ebay for $1,500, but with no accessories. I'll sell for $1,500 shipped insured to anywhere in the continental USA, and will throw in the additional included accessories noted above.

The RAM was replaced with new RAM directly from IBM/Lenovo in November 2005, and is working perfectly.

The two batteries were replaced just a few months ago and are holding a charge as if they were new.

Hi Eric,

sorry I am not interested in your thinkpad but I am also will get a new T60! I think they are superb. But can't decide yet between a regular T60 (T2400 @ 1.8 GHz) or T60p (2500 @ 2.0 GHz) and better graphics card. Price difference is about $500 over here. What do you recommend? thanks and see you soon in SA.

Also, be sure to check out the X60s. I nearly got that instead -- it's a REAL machine with fast processor and 2.5" drive (other subnotebooks don't compare in terms of performance). At 2.75 lbs, it's pretty amazing. Everything is fast except for the video card. It doesn't have a CD-ROM/DVD, but that might not be such a big deal on the road.

I can't deal with having 2 notebooks; otherwise, I would have used an X60s as a travel machine and the T60p as my home machine. :P
