Appolgiuse for the delay .. i thought I had posted them .. apparently my wifi was not connected and i was bamboozeled into thinking it had posted. Lame maybe, Limp never!

and now for some photos, they have been processed using canon raw converter in auto and acdsee3 batch processed just to get them done for some viewing .. lack of computer power to do them right .. i'll get to work on that on wednesday or thursday. But there are ten of my faves that don't look so bad but defnately highlight my trip.

accidently falling in the water with my camera and snorkel equipment near a humpback whale.
Posted Image
Humpback Whale spy hopping
Posted Image
Common Dolphin finishing off the last of some Sardines
Posted Image
Gannet during Take off
Posted Image
Mamma Dolphin and her baby
Posted Image
Dolphin Jumping
Posted Image
And then some more of them jumping
Posted Image
Dolphins chasing our boat
Posted Image
Dolhins swooping in towards the action
Posted Image
Humpback Whale breathing.
Posted Image

And thats the lot until later on this week.
I had an absolute blast .. everything was new to me .. all of those photos have subjects in I have never seen doing things I have never seen. It was jaw dropping for me so at times I found myself just watching in amazement rather than snapping away.
It's insane how many things I did for the first time on this trip .. apparently i need to get out more.

Now that's better, Giles. PS the gannet taking off is really an albatross.

Wags, Kelly can come on my boat... you can go with the guys. :D

Thanks for all the great photos, guys!!

Eric, your whale tail, etc shots are inspiring to say the least and I'm sure it doesn't even come near to the actual experience!!

Drew, again great breaching whale shots! Good action shots!

Giles, you "accidentally" got some great shots. :) But you aren't "modeling" in anyone's...., shucks!!

Thanks for giving us all a look into an exciting event, too bad the bait was sparse and late, but then it looks like you all still found action, I would have expected nothing less...... B)

Thanks for the pics! That's a trip I've wanted to do and maybe I'll be tempted after I get my new camera setup......... :D

hey, everyone.

if there is interest in putting together a trip next year, let me know. of course, you are free to book yourself, but if we can get enough people we'll get 6 people on a Wetpixel boat focused on photography.

I can't go next year, but if we can get enough people together I'll try to convince a photo pro of some sort to lead the trip.

let me know via e-mail if you're interested! http://wetpixel.com/contacteric/

My favourite shot is Eric's dolphins at dawn - it is on his website and well worth checking out. Totally beautiful.

Awesome. I am looking forward to seeing frames 4 and 6 at higher res. SO DAMN COOL. I haven't even seen one of those underwater, let alone in the air.

Here are higher-res, full-frame shots:

And a 600x400 pixel crop. Fairly sharp. ISO 500 and pushed a bit in processing (underexposed as to prevent water and sky from blowing out):
