BlueSphereMedia - Launched my site

Finally got my website up and running. Still lots to do but it's a start. Had to rush through encoding videos. I am happy with the .qt7 files but not with the .wm9 (not great quality). All my DV stuff is .wm9 and my HDV stuff is .qt7. I can't yet produce .wm9's with my MacBook as Flip4Mac doesn't yet run on intel based machines. Also, used iWeb to build it and it auto-converts most images to .png which MS Explorer doesn't like much. As such, load times for Explorer users will be slow the first time through...sorry about that. Safari and firefox should be snappy.
Anyway, give it a look-see if you have a break and let me know what you think.

Looks like you are a busy guy as well.
You have some great clips and pics there, liked the Caribbean reef sharks.
The WMV files played straight away on my PC. Funny though the QT7 would not and had to download first
Yep QT7 quality did look better than wmv but......
QT7 was 250kbps @ 320/180
WMV9 was 180kbps @ 360/240
I also looked at the site with Firefox and IE and everthing displayed fine.
What lens have you one your L&M?
I also pinch ya logo and will put a link to ya.

Thanks for the kind words:)
I tried encoding at even 300kps in Premiere and didn't notice much improvement in my .wm9 performance...the motion stuff gets all blurry. Bummer as most folks will be using that WinMedia. I'll probably tap you for advice on how to optimize that further.
More evidence that Microsoft and Apple aren't friends. On Mac, the qt files stream but not on PC. On PC the wmv files stream but not on Mac...very annoying!
I am using the 80degree wide lens.
Feel free to grab the logo and share the love.

Quicktime vid played ok on my matchine.
I'm getting stuck inside your slideshows. There was no way to escape from them or get a "lightbox" view, so you don't know how far through the show you are. Also I got a couple of script errors when pressing the "next" and "previous" buttons. And sometime those buttons just changed the aspect ratio of the image a little instead of changing to the next picture (but I think you intended that). Also the slideshow pages are too tall for my browser so a scrollbar appears. This is due to a huge white border around the pics.
What software did you use to create the slideshows? If you're getting trouble you might want to try some open source PHP software such as Gallery or Coppermine.

I notice they have a forthcoming "studio edition" which should be interesting.
I have had different results creating WMVs in Premiere, Procoder and Microsoft standalone encoder.

on the slide shows, b/c i chose not to use Apple's server they have minimal functionality. the big wide border is really annoying. i just have so much on my plate i haven't had time to do anythign about it. my real focus is on video work and the slide shows are icing. thanks for the ideas as they are always helpful.

Glad you like the logo...that was a little of my creative side peaking out!
What do I do: well actually I am a secret agent and anymore info would require that I dispose of you;)
I actually do a lot of things and my day job is crazy busy (international business development for a software company...mostly asia). My other "job" is freelance UW video work. That is just really reving up now. The nice thing about my day job is it sends me to all kinds of locations with diving accessible. I also accrue crazy airline miles which enables me to fly almost anywhere free.
So...to be clear...I am a working stiff who is trying to work his way toward what I love to do...shoot video and produce.

Yeah it's funny how my presence on here increases dramatically when I have a shitload of editing to do. Not to mention the hours spent agonising over Z1 housing choices
Anyone fancy wading through 10 full tapes of Bunaken/Lembeh footage for me?
Shawn you could always just jack it in like I did and then live on sticky rice and water for a few years while you suffer for your art
