We are planning two, two-week photographic tours of the Seychelles Inner Islands in March/April and October 2004.

PRASLIN ISLAND
This tour will include at least 4 dives in the newly protected shark sanctury at Marianne... 30 - 100 sharks at high tide (Bull, Blacktailed grey & Whitetips) plus schools of Eagleray and huge Fantailed rays. Full advice on shooting sharks - digitally of course.

Tours of Islands picturesque spots inc. the worlds best beach and the worlds smallest "Heritage Site" - The Vallee de Mai. Minibus' hired to traverse this beautiful Island and an eyeopening journey to the highest point for the incredible sunsets.

One day trip to La Digue for surface photography, amazing pink granite rock formations, great for walking and bike rides.

MAHE
Diving out of Beau Vallon Bay for wrecks, sharks and Eagleray schools.
Offshore trips to the most incredible fish-filled sites you could imagine.
October - Whalesharks too: Special spotting and snorkling trips in the NW National park - Incredible island scenery. Dolphin feeding station. With rare and strange marine life examples only discovered 2 years ago.

Photographic Comps. Overall trip portfolio and shootouts. Land based subjects (scenic & wild life) will form part of a seperate portfolio competition

Good accomodation on half board minutes from the dive centres on both islands.

No Limit to number of persons and no single surcharges.

Hopefully Eric will be helping us out?!

Costs: $2400 pp Flights extra, and can be arranged ex UK, Dubai Nairobi or Singapore.

Great for families, and children can be catered for at our 'Dive Kresh'
Non-diving partners less price.

Don't forget "Name that baby" A chance for free diving & accommodation.

March /April is tax season so I can't do that but that October one may be of interest. I may have to remortgage the house I am building for the flights but, I will talk to the boss and see what she says.

Hi Bob,

You've piqued my interest. I checked with American Airlines, (I'd use my FF miles). The closest they can get me would be Nigeria then she said I'd have to book with something called "Sea Shells" airline for the final leg.

Let me ruminate for a while on this. Would also do October. Was the price quoted Canadian $? Do you have electricity there? LOL!

You would probably have to fly from Lagos - Nairobi & Air Seychelles or BA to Mahe.

You will love Seychelles diving and its amazing marinelife.

If I pay the bill we get electricity (same pipe as gas & water)!

It may be a good idea when flying from the west coast (LA) to check out a Round the World Ticket - This could save a lot of money maybe. Not sure whether this is practical from Seattle/Vancouver - never flown west from there.
Boston/New York departures are best via UK, Paris or Zurich.

Distances involved: UK - Mahe 5500 miles. Singapore - Mahe 2300 miles

2004 is so far away......
I still try to find the place to this year vacation.

How is the coral in Seychelles now? I heard that all the corals are dead due to a sea temperature rise caused by El Nino in the late nineties.

Hey Alto,

The corals in Seychelles are coming back better than ever - amazing regrowth and so much colour too.

If you want to go this season I can arrange that for you too.

Hi Bob,
Looks like I'd fly Seattle to London and then on to Mahé via Seychelles Air. Unfortunately, American Airlines only book out 330 days. So, I will confirm in November.
Please keep me informed of any additional info.
Thanks,
Rand

Hi, I also would like to come, but can't say for sure yet.

Maybe we can plan more in June in Egypt. Maybe I even don't want to see you anymore after that trip ;-)

Whale sharks in abundance it seems...

Reports in today from both Praslin & Mahe put the figures up to around 30 individuals.

This is heartwarming, wish I had stayed that extra month, but then again there is always August through October!
