My guess: a D70 with the D200 sensor in it, or if not the D200 sensor, then the 2-channel readout sensor used in the Sony Alpha.
Cheers
James
Yes. It's very unlikely to be any other 10.2M pixel sensor. I think the latter is more likely. It'll probably be 3 frames/second and don't need 4 channels of readout.

The big question is will it fit in existing D200 or possibly D70 housings?

Interesting that the normally inscrutable and very close-mouthed Nikon is actually doing some marketing. Here's hoping they have the production capacity in place to meet demand.

I think they are saying: Wait. Don't go and order that Sony A100 yet.
They also announced the D70 way before ship date for similar reasons.

It would be great if it would fit in my D70 Seacam housing

So I would not have to save up for a D200 + housing
