On a single exploratory trip in December of 2006, we had hours in the water with multiple manta rays, who repeatedly approached within touching distance to play in our bubbles. The manta rays are there to be cleaned by clarion angelfish, and are what the islands are best known for. We also had underwater encounters with schools of tuna and jacks, whale sharks, white-tip reef sharks, friendly groupers, and much more. Eric, we have been diving the Socorro, San Benidicto and Roca for decades, no real exploration is left at those islands. Did your 2006 trip explore Clarion or possibly blue water diving? Please share what the exploratory imperative targeted. I am enthused that something new may have been discovered at RevillagigedosOn a single exploratory trip in December of 2006,

Apologies! I mean "exploratory", as in my own exploration of the islands. It was my first time there.

Someone on Wetpixel just went to Clarion recently. I don't remember who, though -- was it Mary Lynn Price?
