Don't want to open another bucket of worms, but high ISO performance in the E-410/E-510 is greatly improved.

Look at the attached camera tests by PopPhoto for the E-510 and the new Canon 1D mark III (both about 10 PM) in the area of noise to 1600, the Olympus test was RAW only. The Olympus does very well against the Canon with a sensor over three times as large. Auto focus speed in low light ain't bad either.

Interesting. I noticed something about the AF speed that I intuitively already knew about the Oly SP-350. Its focus performance in bright conditions was not as good as most P&S cameras but the drop off in low light was negligible. While some cameras were superfast in bright conditions if you simply get them in lower light levels and have them focusing on low-contrasting areas they struggle more than the olympus. In any case, your links make a strong case for Olympus. When I review this http://www.dpreview....E410/page15.asp it appears the olympus loses some detail at expense of keeping the noise low.

Not to flog a dead horse but Ryan has some really good prices on this setup but I have just one more question. The base of the housing appears to have two mounting screws verse the traditional 1 screw that I'm used to. My base now is wide enough to support the housing (almost 30cm) but it only has the 1 traditional tripod screw. So I'll probably need to purchase another base?

Gary,

The Olympus E-410 housing has five mounting points on the base plate. One is in the center so your base may work. The system allows for several arrangements for mounting grips and other accesories.

Olympus only makes a housing for the E-410 (PT-E03).

Sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith.. ;) I just bought an e-410. The housing will soon follow. I've found a retailier that will part with the housing for about $1100 and it includes a flat port. I guess the next thing I need to figure out is how to get it wet! the housing not the camera :P Anyway, I appreciate all the feedback.

PS..I remember a discussion about the 14-42 vs teh 14-45 lens. I can't seem to find that anywhere.
