We previously announced the introduction of the Raja Ampat park entrance tag system. Now, the Raja Ampat park and Wetpixel present a special opportunity - the 2008 Raja Ampat Entrance Tag Contest. If you have the perfect Raja Ampat photo, you have the chance to see your photo printed over 5,000 times and win a complimentary diving package in the Raja Ampat region, courtesy of local dive operators. At the same time, your photo helps support the protection of this diverse marine ecosystem.

Given the size of the tag is there any use in posting a wide angle shot for consideration?

Yes, the photo should be taken in Raja Ampat. *Update* - Pictures can be taken anywhere in Indonesia.

Keep in mind that since the tag is so small, clear macro or fish portrait photographs work well - scenic shots do not. I know that Eric's sample image is a bit contradictory in this regard. :)

I apologize - the pictures do not have to be from Raja Ampat, but they do need to be from Indonesia. The deadline is coming up, so enter soon - this is a great opportunity to see one of your photos worldwide!

Well for a contest with such a big prize, that makes a HUGE difference in the pool of pictures you can screen to submit. I think any new entrants have an advantage over those of us that have already submited. :)

Entrants can request that their previously uploaded photos be removed up to the contest deadline by following the guidelines specified on the main Photo of the Week page:

If you need to delete an entry, leave a comment on the entry you want deleted, and an administrator will delete the image.
