Hi I'm looking for a good programm (PC) for batch resizing pictures.

Best would be if I could use PSD as source file and could do two things at once (one conversion to jpg with a specific filename prefix without resizing and one conversion to jpeg with another prefix with resizing) Also it would be great if I could give it as a parameter a specific pixelcount that no side should be bigger as after resizing (so it can do landscape and portrait as once).

SimonK,
I think this might do what you want as well as a variety of other things. I just downloaded it and haven't had a chance to really explore it.

I also have a couple other possibilities as well as Photoshop Elements 2.

for batch work, including:

- conversions between 87 formats, including PSD, JPEG, GIF, TIFF, Postscript
- resizings
- "proof sheets" (montage of thumbnails) with file names
- inumerable other tasks

you might find ImageMagick useful. It is free and runs under

Windows '95 and later ('95, '98, ME, NT 4.0, 2000, and XP)
Macintosh (MacOS 9 and 10)
VMS
OS/2
Linux/Unix

For batch conversions of raw formats, dcraw might be useful. Written byDavid Coffin, dcraw supports more than 50 different camera models including the S40, and may be found at
