After skipping a year, Wetpixel is now considering running another trip to South Africa for the annual ocean safari (AKA “sardine run"). Tentative dates are June 23-July 7, 2008 (15 days, 14 days in the water). The boat will have a maximum of 5 persons plus 1 skipper. All accommodations and meals are included, as well as tanks and weights.

You can read about the previous 2 year’s trips here:
Wetpixel 2006 Trip
Wetpixel 2007 Unofficial Trip

Cost will be approximately ZAR 39,000, or about USD $5700. We will need the full boat to go.

One day I am going to do this. I can't this year though. I can't wait to finally meet the famous Scubadru of the sardine run. :)

When you meet him, ask him about the time he scared away the whale I was shooting (while dressed like Spiderman, no less!) :)

Oh so the whale which was swimming AWAY from you 2 is suddenly chilled? Maybe if you 2 had worked on your signals better, instead of confusing the skipper, the whale wouldn't have left you 2 and head my direction?

Geez, I knew you were good mate! But signaling whales to swim towards you - now that is a SKILL!
