G'day all. I don't actually have an underwater set up yet and can't afford one at the moment( i have a ricoh Caplio G3) As a result I am currently making my own houseing because I love photography and I love snorkelling. As a shallow water snorkeller I only dive to about 5m but I will eventually(when my teenagers leave home) be able to afford both scuba and specialist underwater gear. I live near Bundaberg in Queensland Australia only about 5 minutes drive from either Mon Repos turtle rookery or one of 5 shore dive spots. How good is it in Bundy? Last weekend I decided to go to Barolin rocks for a look and 15minutes later I was rubbing the shell of a loggerhead turtle underwater. Enough skiting I just wanted to say g'day.
G'day from Queensland

hi and welcome, plenty of Queenslanders here at Wetpixel. Nice part of the world Bundy. This is a great place to get the info before you dive in to gear purchases. Looking forward to your contributions.

Welcome as well bushanwater. I'm up here in Cairns, got to love it, last night it was bucketing down with rain while I was in the pool drinking burbon, got to luv the tropics
.
Mon Repo, what a crazy place for turtle watching, like 60 people with torches on one turtle

The turtle rookery is really regulated these days at least at Mon Repos itself. Locals know of another beach nearby that is not as regulated. As for the rum, well it's not for me to tell you how bad your taste in drinks is. I haven't been to Cairns for about 25 years so I don't know what it is like up there but you didn't send the rain down our way only the wind, 40knots kind of rules out diving this week so time tyo work on the gear. thanks for the welcome. See Y'a
