I finished my web page on my Fiji trip. Love to get some comments/tips. This is the last album I will post that were not digital shots. From here on out it is pure G2 madness :)

With shots like those--are you sure you want to go digital? It looks like you've got film down to a science. Very nice photographs. Must have been one heck of a Fiji vacation. A trip report would be nice.

Great shots Bob! Just the way I remebered the place.
I was there at Pacific Harbor about a month later. Wish I had started photography back then.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words.

And Tio, I did finally fix the copywrite issue. :)

In fact I found a really nice free script that will disable the right click of a viewers mouse. If you go to my site, and try to right click you get a nice message telling you no-no. Easy to just cut and paste into your html codes.

It can be found at:

Give it a try!

Bob,

unfortunately this works only for Netscape :)

Disabling the option to save a graphic doesn't really prevent people from stealing your pictures, because the pics are in the cache of your computer anyway.
There are plugins for Photoshop that allow you to add a copyright watermark to your pictures that is invisible and cannot be removed by anybody else.

Or you can add a copyright text to one corner of your pictures. Thieves would then have to cut that part of the picture to claim it as their own.

Sabine

BTW: Love your pictures ! Makes me want to go to Fidji too.

Bob,

i noticed a small problem on your Fidji page.
The title bar of my browser now reads:

// No rightclick script v.2.5// © 1998 barts1000// barts1000@aol.com

Somehow copying the script section has damaged your title tag

<br /> <br /> Fix is simple:<br /> <br /> <meta HTTP-EQUIV="imagetoolbar" CONTENT="no" ><br /> <br /> ... here comes the java script section<br /> <br /> <title>Fidji Gallery

Thanks Sabine.

I did know that there were ways around the no right click, but I figure if someone wants to steal something that badly, there going to figure out a way no matter what we do. :)

I figure every little bit helps, and with the combination of the no right click, a copywrite notice and a notice on the home page, should keep most people from theft. That and the fact that I usually dont post any image with enough resolution to be all that useable anyway.

I have thought about adding a copywrite into the image, but I someone steals , it usually is not that difficult to remove that. The embedded digital watermark is something that I still need to look into.

I guess in truth, I would be flattered if anyone thought it was really good enough to steal! :)

hi Mark,

Nope, that was with an ikelite/elan film set up.

The g2 shots will be coming in July, we hope!
:)

I haven't had much trouble at all on land with my G2, so I will be interested to see how I manage on a dive trip. I'll let you know as soon as they are posted.
