These are spectacular. My 16 year old has been bugging me to get surfing pictures of her and her buddies, competitions etc here in Florida for ages. Tried once with my Subal housing and was not too happy with my housing in the surf. I called the SPL guys and it looks like I'll be picking up my housing when I'm in San Diego in 3 weeks. I ordered it with the 70-200 zoom port. I also think I'll use it in the pool, it will be nice to have 2 setups with different lenses.
Nikon D800, Nikon D7000, Nauticam, Inons, Subtronic Novas. Lens collection - 10-17, 15, 16, 16-35, 14-24, 24-70, 85, 18-200, 28-300, 70-200, 60 and 105, TC's. Macs with Aperture and Photoshop.

Okay I have to asked....after the shot do you get supremely pummelled by the wave? I've always wondered about that with those huge wave tunnels and a big camera...just sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Wow, these are fantastic. I've always wanted to try this, ever since taking my little pocket Canon Ixus into the surf.

sometimes... i have spent some time in the hospital with a back injury and im only 29 years old... not fun but to get the shot sometimes you have to make alittle sacrifice.

Nice shots JT... did you use a strobe on that second shot to light the inside of that wave?
i used a sb800 on the 3rd shot. 1/250th shutter

Amazing shots and credit to you for being brave enough to take them. For all the talk about sharks and danger, it's the water itself you really have to look out for.
