Hi Sam,
You've got me very interested in the d700 camera as I own a d200 nexus.
In Tonga last month I would have liked faster ISO with the humpback whales as it was overcast and choppy.
Can I just go over what I understand you have done to put the d700 into the nexus d200 housing?
Please correct me if I'm wrong?
A modified baseplate lines up lenses correctly and gives access to shutter release, aperture and shutter dials ( I shoot mostly in manual mode)
At this point what else do you have access to?
More importantly, what don't you have access to?
You are still working on a back plate as the viewfinder doesn't line up?
Are you thinking about selling kits for this conversion?
And just a general question on the d700 camera: I read that you cannot download onto a computer without the supplied software. What are the system requirements for this software? I have one older computer. Or can I, once downloaded, transfer these files to any computer?
thanks for your help
Mary

Hi,
I tried to put d700 into Subal ND20 d200 housing in weekend & found
it is not possible without changing the back cover. Sorry for disappointing
news.

Hi Mary,
I have a friend who visited Tonga/Vava'u last month & took pictures with
Tony Wu and he told me how hard it is. I respect those of you doing that....
You are correct on things you described/understand about modified nexus d200
housing.
Right now, you can do;
On/Off
Shutter
F-stop dial
Shutter speed
Picture Review
and you will have most of function you have (except C-S-M Sw,Lens release)
on your d200 housing today.
I am still making new plastic window & it will make all function switches + view finder
perfectly in line with d700. CAD design is done & will have first one made by CNC this
week.
I made some d200 to d300 mod kits available to members & will do the same for d700
kit.
Re download, No, you can download to your computer like you do on d200, without
any extra software.
