Housing with NO ports $6,860.00... Their new SWP44C SW $4,948.00
This is going to be expensive..!!! I reckon the price in the UK for housing only will be around £4200...Holy moly... I reckon about £7000+ for a decent set-up..
Although the housing looks amazing !!
Weight in water: Slightly Neg...though adjustable
In air: 23lbs (10.5kg) without camera...
Optional internal flip diopter... Hmmmm!!!!
16.5"L X 11.8"H X 10.5"W...Big ol piece of metal....
Well we will wait and see....
Sorry for the brief summary.. But I haven't got the time to mess about... Bars open

Did I read EDIUS in there somewhere....
Yeh Yeh it does not handle 1920/1080 30p yet but that's not a Blu_Ray format anyhow so if you shoot in it you have to change.

JohnE sent me a prototype EX1 housing to show at PMA (Australia) in Brisane last week.
The housing featured all things that you have come to expect from the Pro-level Gates Product amazingly fitted into a housing no bigger than the Z1 unit. ( I put them side by side )
I can see this unit featuring in many major productions in the future.

I clicked on the 1920/1080 link and got the 960/540 80 meg clip....just cannot get good web people now days.
Looking forward to seeing clear water footage and zoomed in up close on a wobbly subject with lights to see it there is any motion blur from that 35mbps compression rate.
Peter send over the rig and I will go and shoot some Floppy SHarks with it.

What a load of Bollocks - I bet they would fall over themselves to accept a 100% of any fresh & unique footage that was shot with it.
I think we all need to remember the shooter makes the image happen - the camera ( mechanical device that needs to be told what to do ) simply captures what the shooter is pointing it at .....

I have even seen underwater footage from a HDCAM with compression banding on a full res monitor.
It will mix in no problems...even my FX1 mixed in with a 110 minute underwater HDCAM GIG.
Like I said before HD digital TV is highly compressed anyhow.
Yes I have seen guys with full HD rigs that are useless in the water with them.
If you have good footage they will take it.

I think that everyone is on the same page, if you get a killer whale dancing and juggling if it was shot on iphone I'm sure you could sell it!
Its is interesting what cameras people are shooting with for various programes etc, just heard that the feature film Crank 2 has been using Canon XHA1 surface and also for all underwater scenes. HDV can't be that bad....
I think the footage from the EX1 is pretty hard to judge due to the conditions, also it was the first outing with the camera etc.
