Remember this is all rumor for now. It seems the camera that is more definite at the moment is a D5000 (D40/60 replacement), but Nikon have released 2 cameras together before (D3/D300)Do you have a link for us? I am not hopeful that it will fit in a D300 housing (Sea & Sea in my case)...however, I am eagerly awaiting this camera...
Nikon D800, Nikon D7000, Nauticam, Inons, Subtronic Novas. Lens collection - 10-17, 15, 16, 16-35, 14-24, 24-70, 85, 18-200, 28-300, 70-200, 60 and 105, TC's. Macs with Aperture and Photoshop.

I think Nikon learned that releasing two cameras at the same time is a mistake - as the big one always dominates the headlines - as with the D300 and D3. That's why the D90 was released slightly before the D3X. I suspect we'll often see Nikon releasing the lower model a month or so before the higher model.
I'm hoping a D400 might fit the D700 housing.

I know it'll be a D800. I have my reasons.
As for fitting an existing housing, I hope any new camera with fit in one of at least six housings I have in the cupboard!
I buy my own photographic kit. Diving equipment manufacturers and diving services suppliers get even-handed treatment from me whether they choose to advertise in the publications I write for or not. All the equipment I get on loan is returned as soon as it is finished with. Did you know you can now get Diver Mag as an iPad/Android app?

There is red on that camera body. Doesn't nikon only do that with professional grade camera?

Nikon D90 also has red on the camera body

It may just a entry level dslr like D5000 (or called D60x/D65) is what they are going to release
but, I love to see new d400 and try into my d200 housing.

Phew! I'm still waiting for the 16mm lens for my D700! Normally Nikon bring out a replacement camera as soon as they hear I bought one!

Any of you with a subal housing for that old outdated piece of junk D300 want to sell for next to nothing-I'll take it off your hands -They make fine paper weights.

Had to laugh. As soon as the 14th rolled by without a D400 announcement, I read a post where someone claimed "inside info" that the D400 would be announced in June. Even had inside info that they were announcing this camera months earlier than they want to because of market pressure.
