Can you explain what you mean by old model on the 105? is it auto focus?

By "old model" I refer to the original Nikon 105. It is full autofocus and many are still using it. There is a newer 105 VR which has a much wider barrel and it is only recently that most housings have ports that will fit this larger size. Some feel that the auto focus is faster on the original model. The price difference is significant, B&H sells the revised VR model for $900
