Hi
I am looking for a swimming pool in Hampshire ( I am based in fleet )where I can practice some underwater photography and experiment with my lighting etc on plastic props ( from the sea life centre) etc.

i have asked the local leisure center , but they wont allow it in fact they don't allow any scuba masks as it covers the nose and they class it as dangerous . ;)

You might want to ask your local dive dive shop if you can tag a long with a group of new divers taking their pool skills part of their Open Water Diver Course. I do this all the time and my LDS operator actually encourages it. They may even waive any fees for your use of the pool.

It's a win-win situation, as I get to run my tests and the LDS gets to keep the student's enthusiasm high with the display of "exotic" underwater photographic equipment. It fits in beautifully with the store's strategy to spur more equipment sales.

Hope that helps.
Paul Walker.

I am from Fleet and know the problems, I used to go to Tony Backhurst and do eveything there, but when I left Fleet there was a dive shop opened up in Church Crookham in the housing estate down the road from the Wyvern. Sorry can not remember the estate name now, but its opposite Redfields, not sure if the dive shop is still there but it may pay to check...

You could try contacting Ocean Turtle Diving at Besingstoke http://www.oceanturt...o.uk/about.html . They use a pool at Lord Wandsworth school in Odiham on Thursday evenings. They're off in Lanzarote at the moment, but back open on 24th April. I'm sure they'll be able to help.

How coincidental!

I am also in Fleet! Unfortunately I go to Dive Wimbledon which is a bit of a drive.

Simon Brown is also in Fleet, that makes 4 UW photographers!!

Let me know if you find anywhere!

Regards

Thanks for the feedback.
I have written a letter to Aldershot Garrison ,se what they say.
Also found some interesting leads from everybody that replied.
Will let you know Gareth ! I know Simon Brown is around here in Fleet somewhere .I think he has some or other military connection ,perhaps he has an idea?
