Here's my first attempt at surf photography - done in Solana Beach. This was actually just around the corner from where the triathlete was killed by the great white last year.

Anyhow, I took these w/ a Fuji F30 w/ Inon WA lens. It was great fun! Next time I'll bring fins and a mask and get out into the outer break.

Next time I need something w/ less shutter lag - it was only after I got out that I saw that most of my photos were just green water :-(

Hard, isn't it? I've tried to shoot surfers from the water with the G9 ... and took a POUNDING and didn't get a single good shot.

Next time, I'll just rent a 500mm lens and chill on the beach.
