I've charged up the Wetpixel Picture of the Week competition, so head on over there and submit your best shots! This week's theme is Swimming.
POTW link: http://wetpixel.com/competition/

The moderators are running a little dry on creativity these days, and we need your help to come up with some new themes. Any suggestions? List 'em here. :D

To help us think of other themes, do you have a quick reference list we can refer to as to what you have had before please? :D

Water effects (halocline, thermocline or thermal ripple, runoff mineral colors in springs)?
Asymmetry
Diagonal framing (shots with a profound diagonal alignment to the subject matter)
MOON balls
Selective Focus (either depth of field or panning or offcenter framing type effects)
Parasitism (isopods on fish or whatnot)
Abstracts / Textures (darn it - already on your list)
Greatest screwups! (great framing but bad lighting or wrong metering, fin in the corner or bubbles ruining the shot)
Comedy (for some reason it's funny, like that shot of a turtle with crossed fins, or Eric's smiling baby turtle, or dumb diver stunts)

Current rig: Sony SLT-alpha55 in Ikelite housing, Sigma 105mm f2.8 DC Macro w/ Ike 5505.58 flat port or Sigma 8-16mm f/4.5-5.6 DC HSM behind UWCamStuff custom 5" mini-dome. Dual INON z240 Type IVs triggered with DS51 for TTL mimicry, or DS51 alone with home-made ringflash assy for macro.

Topside, unhoused: Sony SLT-alpha99, Sigma 150-500mm + 1.4TC (Saving for Sony 70-400 G2), Sigma 15mm diagonal fish, Sony 24-70mm f2.8 CZ, Tamron 180mm f2.8 Macro...all the gear and nary a clue...

How many themes do you really need? I think it is OK to repeat themes. As a matter of fact, having a set theme schedule for the next year isn't a bad idea. Leave a couple of slots open "TBD" for new ideas. It's not like people don't take new pictures that can be entered in the next go around of a specific theme. Exclude previous winners or placers in the particular theme. People can plan out their submissions. They could plan whole dive trips around entering a WPOTW contest.

No fuss, no muss.

Creative filters.
The need for high definition images with w/a or high macro lenses is less but the need for a good strong image prior to manipulation might encourage those with lesser cameras and lower tecnique (like me) but who occasionally play with a strong image they have managed to capture. Like this from an Aldabra channel with a 3mp Cannon G1.IMG_8971ab.JPG
