Nice shots! One suggestion for you. You might try moving the strobe in a little closer and a little more toward the center on some of the macro shots -- the light falls off substantially in the lower right corner of some of them.
I think your mystery fish is a female gilded triggerfish (Xanthichthys auromarginatus ). The males have yellow highlights on the fins and tail -- the females have black. The males also have a blue chin . . .

Thanks for the macro advise and the hint on the fish name. I started the trip off in Apeture priority and ended it on full manual. I still have a long way to go...

Some great results, i've got the same set up, G2 etc
can you post some camera settings & strobe settings . I too started off on AV setting and moved to manual, it's all about trail and error !!
