I'm hoping mine will be waiting for me when I get back from holidays next week

I shipped the first batch out to their new homes today.

I took the 7D out for a swim today and have posted my first impressions at my blog. The conditions could have been better but they let me get the housing in the water which was great. I'll aim to get a few more dives in this week and report the findings.

It's an awesome piece of kit!

Just picked mine up. Currently reading up on using fibre optics and ttl (all new to me). Will be out at sea the next few days giving it a good run through, will post when I return.

Good stuff Ryan. I can't say I'm happy, my first dives are in the butt end of the harbour whereas you'll be on the GBR with a rainbow of colours and gin clear water. Grrr!

I'm heading out tonight to try out some video.

This may come as surprise to a lot of people who know I have the Nauticam 7D housing on order but I'll actually be shooting with the Aquatica 7D housing for the next couple of weeks or more. Peter Mooney from Scubapix kindly offered me a trial of the Aquatica 7D housing while I'm waiting for my Nauticam to arrive. I don't know whether this was taking pity on me to put me out of my misery of not being able to use my 7D underwater or to shut me up and stop the many "Is it here yet?" queries for the Nauticam (Scubapix is the Australian distributor for both Aquatica and Nauticam). So if anyone is interested in a comparison of the two housings from someone who has used both I should be able to provide it a few weeks time.

Sounds great - Peter knows that I am going to be getting one or the other, so you might save me having to do a trip to Cairns to compare them. At the moment I'm waiting to see if Nauticam make a 45 degree viewfinder.

Have you been able to post your Aquatica v. Nauticam review yet? I've decided to jump back into the world of stills after doing video for the last 5-6 years. I've chosen the 7D but haven't decided on the housing yet. I look forward to your insight.

The Nauticam turned up late last week and I managed to do two dives with it last weekend. I'm really impressed with the Nauticam from these two dives and I'm happy that I chose the right housing for me. I'll be doing the review next week after I've had a chance to use it with a number of different lens/port combinations over the Easter break.

Ill be looking forward to that review. I just traded in my Nauticam D90 housing for the 7D housing... so waiting calmly for the new housing to show up so I can get the 7D wet.
