Wondered down to the beach this arvo and took 5 images then stitched them together and this is what I got.
A 360 degree image.
Its a wide one....lol

yeh well its abit hard to not get me shadow in at that time of day aint it...
I was surprised at how well it came out, have to do some more.

It was cold compared to where I just came back from, had to wear my beanie.
Snow what is that?
I use a custom pic profile to get that colour.
Took the 5 shots hand held and stitched them together in Photoshop.
125, f4.5, ISO 100

Off to shoot a house video this arvo with the new wide lens on the steady cam.

I think this one is more believable as the light is more even. The first one does not look quite right because of the uneven light that is really unavoidable when trying to do this at sunrise or sunset.

You can view panoramas as sphereical or cylindrical projections using quicktime or flash. For mac Cubic converter is popular, or PTGUI will let you output like this as does Auto Pano and Pano2VR

Hoping to try a bit more of this type of shot. Have just had the 'Metal Man' knock me up a pano bracket for 15 quid so need to get out and play with it. At the moment it is very windy and mini sandstorms everywhere so will wait for better conditions.

I keep meaning to..... off to Hurgharda on the 2nd, hopefully I won't be struck by flu 2 days into the trip this time..... I want to wait until summer and catch Rasmo at it's best, I have only ever been there in the winter..... the biggest school of fish I have seen there is the anthias

PanaVue Image Assembler works very nicely on a Windows based platform.

It will allow you to export a 360° panorama within a Quicktime format very easily.

You can find out more about the software HERE.

I like to have a copy of the software on my laptop when I travel so I can test my panoramas will stitch together accurately later when I return home.

Are the marine park police going to better police it this year? Might be time for an education campaign explaining to Bedouin that they are schooling up for spawning and that if they take them while that is happening then they won't be around for years to come. But I do know that it is difficult to do these things in Egypt!

However, the cynics will say that since they have started clamping down on dive operations and instructors and issuing big fines for straying into the wrong area that the centres and staff have really started to push the 'one rule for us, one for them' argument...

Hopefully they will stay away and we will be able to hang off Shark Reef and marvel at the 360 degree panoramic vista of Snapper, Batfish, baracuda, jacks and emperors...
