Although I originally tried this in the benign waters off Florida, I got myself one of these for a trip to Kri Island and enjoyed the fact that I could motor into anything less than a 3knot current while being hands-free to hold my camera. I have the leisure version on loan and recommend it to anyone diving where there are strong currents. It isn't that expensive and weighs IIRC 8kg at check-in.

I buy my own photographic kit. Diving equipment manufacturers and diving services suppliers get even-handed treatment from me whether they choose to advertise in the publications I write for or not. All the equipment I get on loan is returned as soon as it is finished with. Did you know you can now get Diver Mag as an iPad/Android app?
