Nikon D90 has no interval settings so .....
here is the solution.

IR led triggers my D80 and D90 -DIP switches to set interval times 5 + 10 + 20 sec
... and it works well in the housing.
Just grabbed the Nikon protocol from the internet.

I am surprised no one ever answered this topic ! This is a great hardware solution

to get an intervalometer. For Canon, it can be achieved through software hacking with

Magic Lantern.
