Chuffed as punch! But I wrote it in past tense and they changed it all to present tense, do they do this often? I could have done it if they had have asked
Paul,
They do this for descriptive pieces because it is thought to give them more immediacy.
Every mag has its own editorial style. When I used to write for Tauchen (Germany), I'm sure they threw away my words and wrote them totally afresh whereas DYK in Scandinavia prints exactly what I write - but translated into Swedish or Danish.

I buy my own photographic kit. Diving equipment manufacturers and diving services suppliers get even-handed treatment from me whether they choose to advertise in the publications I write for or not. All the equipment I get on loan is returned as soon as it is finished with. Did you know you can now get Diver Mag as an iPad/Android app?

If you haven't already, email George Lanham [george@divermag.co.uk] and ask him to send you the layout as a PDF.
Good to have for your archives.
Really enjoyed the read as well.
