PADI have launched their own version of a Solo diver course, "Self Reliant Diver" as a distinct speciality.
I was fortunate enough to get an exclusive for Diver Magazine and become the first UK diver to qualify.

Having done some tech training I'm not at all sure that a pony cylinder marks you out as a "self-reliant diver"...
