Not new to film, digital underwater photography...however, been awhile (YEARS!) since I've done some. Looking to get back into it.

Decade plus ago, housed my Nikon film SLR in a Ikelite housing. Worked fine. Then, like most others, splurged on Nikon D50...leaped into digital world. Having spent my budget on the camera, got creative on the housing. Adapted the Ikelite housing for the film camera to house the new digital camera. A bit clunky, couldn't utilize all the features and buttons, did have some fun and success.

After an unfortunate break of years from diving and hence underwater photography, looking forward to getting back on the proverbial sea horse!  To my chagrin, was looking forward to getting an updated Ikelite housing only to learn, can't get one! I have ports, tray, strobe, etc., and I can't buy what Ikelite doesn't sell, make any more.

So here I am. Would really like to find a housing if someone has one and wants to part with it. Also would like to learn what's new, latest and greatest in this addictive activity politely called narcotic image freezing in less than friendly wet environment that our tools hate.

Look forward to learning more, seeing more, and saving what I see to share.

Hi Guys

I've been lurking around this forum for a while, and I thought I register and post a thanks to everyone for all the great info and photos / videos and links..

I'm not new to diving nor am I new to filming / photoing on land, but the combination is something I haven't done much.. But in the future, I plan to!!

I've recently purchased the Panasonic GH4 and will stick it in a housing from Nauticam..

It seems the answers to all the questions I have for now is right here in this forum, all I have to do is to sort it to fit my needs.. But that is Not easy as I really don't know all my needs yet..

I would love if there was a part of the forum where you could see a complete list of everyones setup and how it is used.

Maybe it's here already and I just can't find It? .... If not, lets start one..

For now I have the GH4 with the panasonic 12-35mm, the Olympus 60mm Macro and finally the Panasonic 8mm FE. (all lenses from my old GH2).

I'll keep you guys updated as my housing /ports / gears / floats / handles / lights and whatnot are acquired and my wallet is emptied.. And let us all laugh at the mistakes I'm bound to make on the way.. (please stop me from making too many:))..

I'll be back

Hi, I'm new to scuba diving. So, I'm new to underwater photography too :) I do own a couple of systems:

1. Gopro hero 3 black with underwater housing.

2. Olympus OMD EM-5 with meikon housing (40m)

So, far I just used my gopro on my wrist. But I'm looking forward to use my Oly in the future :)

hello, just introducing myself. I'm on here and on SPU (some of you might know). I started shooting surf on land, with a nikon dx body and the main lens which was a 300 2.8, even at 450mm equivalent, it was sometimes challenging to get a good shot as the point breaks tend to be very far away still. You'd need a 600mm with teleconverter which i do not have the money for. So i decided to get into the water instead. Got a second hand Essex housing, with a 50d and 70-200 F4L for when i want to stay a bit away from the action (big swells and zoo crowds), and a 10-18mm with dome port for mellow days i'm shotting longboarding. Then i picked up a nikon and ikelite and took it to hawaii, no strobes at the moment so california water is pretty much out of the questions for deeper dives. anyway, just saying hi to everyone, seems like a cool community.

Hi All!

I am currently using Olympus XZ-1 with Olympus housing with Sea & Sea YS 110a Strobes. I have a Canon 5D ( mki) which I use for my land photography. Few months back, I saw and purchased an Ikelite housing for the Canon 5D. I am thinking if I should invest further in getting the ports, angled view finder and stuffs necessary. My concern is whether the TTL can be use with my current YS110a strobe. I read on ikelite website that TTL is only compaitable  with ikelite strobes. Other than the ports and angle view finder, is there any accessories that I MUST have? Thanks.

I just purchased a new Olympus OMD-EM-1 and I'm looking to buy a used Nauticam or Aquatica housing system for it. I've been diving for the past 32 years. I've caged dived with Great Whites in Guadalupe, snorkled with the Whale Sharks of Isla Mujares and spent the most wonderful times in the currents of Galapagos. In recent years, as technology has improved I've been bitten by the underwater photography shark and after using a Olympus TG-1 with a UFL-2 strobe and Nocturnal Lights focus light for the past 2 years in the ocean, I've ditched my land loving Nikon, purchased a "do it all" Olympus EM-1 and want to get a Nauticam housing with a port & gear for the 12-40mm M.Zuiko and 60mm Macro M.Zuiko lens before a trip to Komodo. I've been visiting this website in the hopes of finding a used housing for my camera, but, I can't seem to post a "Want to Buy" in the classifieds. How can I do this? Thanks for a cool website for underwater photography. Been an admirer of Eric's photographs for years.
