You can book with sevveral boats that will let you see the whales from the surface. If you want to be in the water, you will have to book with someone with a special permit.

In regards to snorkeling with sperm whales, contact Izzy in Dominica, he posts on wetpixel by the handle "nudibranch". Also, "Loftus" ran some trips this past spring and not sure if he is planning more.

Izzy can help you get a permit, they run $3000+, boat per day was $800 to $1400. There is no guarantee that you will even spot a pod of whales, let along get close enough to photograph them. I've done two trips, on the first trip we swam with the whales 4 out of 5 days, on the second one day out of 5. Be aware, if false killer whales are around, the sperm whales will be no where to be found. Also I would not recommend snorkeling with the false killer whales.

Hope this helps,
Elmer
