I recently installed a 1TB 5400RPM drive into the optical bay of my MacBook Pro. Only keep my Photo and Video Library and some backup files on this disk. Neverheless battery power seems to drain faster than normal. Is there any way to put this drive to sleep when not in use?

I have done the same thing to mine and have not noticed that problem but in the system preferences in the under energy saving you can find that setting putting disk to sleep when not being used.
