Heard a very sad rumour about Mike dying in a helicopter accident! Please can someone confirm :(

Sad day, he was an inspiration. I never had a chance to meet him but watching his TED talk really pushed me into U/W photo full time.

Devastating loss. Mike was one of the most enthusiastic, charismatic champions of the ocean, and we will miss him dearly.

The helicopter pilot was Wighty, or Andrew Wight of Great Wight Productions. He produced Sanctum and did great stuff for underwater 3D, as well as being part of the early Australian cave diving exploration scene in the 80s. So sad, I saw the crash on the news yesterday but only found out this am that it was Mike and Andrew, really sad.

Saw him at the NEC a while back. Thats a tragic loss :-(
