The super macro scenes are amazing.
The music selection is excellent too.
No narrations needed, the images speak for them self.

Great music also adds to the quality of the footage.

When I just switched from still to video, I was just using front lighting with two SOLA 1200 on the short arm. It was very easy to lit everything, just light on (wide beam) and push rec button on the camera, that's it. But then I got boring, flat & videoish(?) footage.
So, I start using light on long arms and spot beam to avoid lit water between the lens and subject and background. It's works very well but of course, required long time for setup before start recording.
The other method of lighting is using custom made snoot on lights.
As you can see in the photo, this snoot have 67mm thread so I can use diopter (ex: subsee +5/+10) to get more strong and spot beam for macro footage. Of course, it's very hard to use this setup on conventional arm setting(now I'm often use it on gorilla pod).
I'm always thinking how to shooting video more artistic(?) way and need more ideas - different lighting, shallow dof, focus in&out, framing differently.
FYI, almost all footage in this video, shot on 1080/30p (conformed to 24p in post edting) , shutter speed fixed at 1/60sec, changed only aperture(iris) & iso (100~320).
Hope this help.

Is it hot under that light?
Also, are slowing your footage down from 30p to 24p, or resampling it?
Editing 30p to 24p, I use this method in Sony Vegas.
Timeline are set to "disable resample" and then set playback rate by 0.800.
Then export to 23.976fps with AviSynth, MeGUI (for Vimeo).
So, I guess it's 25% slowing down but not resampling.
BTW, can't fry the eggs with that diopter attached lights.

This is amazing footage. Thanks for posting about how you got it!
Does anyone have snoots built for the sola 4000's? If so how did you do it?
Very easy DIY. It just piece of pvc pipe and $3 step-down ring (67mm thread) glued on it.
But you need some test for decide length of pvc pipe.
