Hi all,
I want to get my 5D2 to work on 2nd curtain synch on non-ETTL strobes. Does anyone know if there is a hack for this? Or are my only options the expensive seacam strobes or housed speedlite?
Thanks Erol

Hmmmm guess there isn t a way, only to house ETTL strobes or buy the Seacam strobes.
Very frustrating to place such pointless limitations on your system and to be honest one reason that has me serious considering a switch to Nikon.

hi ErolE
You can solve this problem using the system flash in the housing.
I have DIY housing for Canon 580 EX 2 and using control via the camera menu of Canon 5d mk 2.
the second curtain sync and high-speed sync work perfect.
I can use multiple flash also

But that is a speedlite in a box. I don't think there is any simple way to fool the camera since it is looking for feedback from the strobe. I think you (someone, certainly not me) could build a small circuit board that would plug into the hotshoe with the right code going to the camera but that as they told me in my graduate school classes is an "exercise for the reader"

Exactly that s what I was looking for, some sort of PCB that would allow 2nd curtain. Was wondering if anyone knew if that sort of thing exisited, but I guess not.
